Steve Long

District 5730 - Zone 27

Steve Long and his wife, Sandy live in Plainview, Texas.  Steve is Associate Professor of Communication and Media Studies at Wayland Baptist University.  They have two children, Kate, who is married and living in Oklahoma with her husband and two children, and, Kevin, who lives in Lubbock Texas.  Steve and Sandy celebrated 37 years of marriage this past year.  They love to travel and spend time with the Grandkids.

Steve was invited to Rotary by a colleague and joined the Plainview Rotary Club on November 1, 1990.  He served as President of the Plainview Rotary Club for 2009-2010. He has served District 5730 as an Assistant Governor and District Trainer before starting the path to District Governor.

Steve and Sandy are both Paul Harris Fellows and Steve Recently joined the Paul Harris Society.
 
 

Hal Pennington

District 5770

Hal is an Executive Vice President of First Bank & Trust Co. of Duncan, Oklahoma.  He has been in banking since 1976.  He graduated from Central State University with a B.A. degree,
Oklahoma City University with a Masters of Business Administration degree.  He also has a Juris Doctorate Degree from OCU.  He is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and is licensed to practice law in Oklahoma and before the United States Supreme Court.
 
Hal joined the Duncan Rotary Club in 1985. He was a member of the Columbia, Missouri Rotary Club from 2000 to 2007.  Hal transferred his membership back to the Duncan Club in 2007. He served as Club President in 2015-16. He serves as the Foundation Committee Chair.  He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.  Hal has chaired the club Clothe a Child Program and has served as Program Chair.  He has served multiple terms on the club Board of Directors.
 
He has trained at PETS and currently serves on the planning committee for the Lone Star PETS.  He hasattended Zone 21b-27 Institute and Multi-District Membership and Foundation training.  He is active with the Youth Exchange Program at the club level.
 
Hal is married to Ame Pennington and they have three children, Erin, Blaine and Andrew.  They are proud grandparents of Gage, Emma Kate, Greyson, Lawson and Sutton.
 
 
Peter Scott

District 5790

Peter is a long time Arlington, Texas, resident who began his professional career as a Financial Advisor in 1983.  He became a Partner at Edward Jones in 1986 and, although retiring in
November 2016, remains a Limited Partner of the firm.  Peter married Lynn Rossi in 1985 just prior to her graduation from The UT School of Law.  They moved to Arlington, where daughter Kristin was born in 1990, and son Joseph in 1992. After moving his Edward Jones Investments office from Cleburne to Arlington in 1994, Peter transferred to the Rotary Club of Arlington and immediately became involved in fundraising for a scholarship program that later received recognition from the White House.  He was President of the Club in 2001.  He served as President of the Arlington Rotary Foundation multiple years, currently working as Vice President.  Prior to his selection as Rotary District 5790 Governor Nominee, he served as Assistant Governor for several years.

 
Peter also serves on other civic organizations, including the Arlington Chamber of Commerce Public Policy Committee, the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau Board, and the  owntown Arlington Management Corporation Board of Directors. He accepted other leadership positions, including Board President of the CVB Education Foundation, VP of his Homeowners Association, and Immediate Past President of the Theatre Arlington Board.
 
Peter is looking forward to the challenges and opportunities in his role as District Governor, and very much appreciates the support of his Spouse Lynn, as well as the 2019-2020 District Leadership team.
 
 
Beverly Grogan

District 5810

Beverly is a native of Dallas. Upon graduating from the UTA, she worked for SBC/Southwestern Bell Telephone.  After early retirement, she became VP – Special Events for the Grand Prairie Chamber of Commerce.  In 2006, she began working for the City of Grand Prairie and served as Event Coordinator for the Grand Prairie Parks, Arts and Recreation department. She retired in 2018 but still works there part-time. She is passionate about her City, and the local Chamber of Commerce selected Beverly as Citizen of the Year for 2014.

She is a Past President of the Grand Prairie Metro Rotary club and held several Board Positions.  She has served as Assistant Governor, District Services Chair, Chairman of the Rotary International Leadership Institute (RILI), and a facilitator at the Lone Star PETS.  She has served as a Ranger at Lone Star PETS as well as a Zone Institute. She is proud to be a Benefactor, as well as the Paul Harris Society and Bequest Society.
 
 
 
Jim Finstrom

District 5830

Born in Davenport, Iowa on November 20, 1043, and raised in Aurora, Illinois.  I graduated from Cornell College at Mt. Vernon, Iowa, in 1965 and from SMU Law School in 1968.  I practiced law in Dallas, Texas, until 1985, moving to Jefferson, Texas, where I presently practice law.  I served as District Attorney for 12 years in Jefferson.

I have been happily married to my wife Patricia for 30 years.  We have 4 children and 9 grandchildren. I am an Eagle Scout; a deacon at First Baptist Church in Jefferson, Texas; active in Gideons International; have been active in Rotary since 1993, having served as president of the Jefferson, Texas Rotary Club and an assistant governor in District 5830.  I am in my second term as Alderman on the Jefferson City Council.  I enjoy gardening and travelling.
 
 
 
John R Hutcherson

District 5840

John and Judy live north of Fredericksburg Texas near Enchanted Rock.  John works as a financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial in Fredericksburg.  He earned a BA from Allegheny College, an MSW from Florida State University, and a PhD from the University of Maryland.  For 15 years, John worked in the mental health field; in the US Air Force at the hospital at
Andrews Air Force Base, and as Executive Director of a Community Mental Center in Mississippi.  John has been a financial advisor for the past 37 years.
 
He joined the Fredericksburg Morning Rotary Club in 2002 and served as President 2011-2012. For several years he served as Polio Plus Chair for District 5840 and has been an Assistant Governor.  John andJudy have participated in National Immunization Days in India and polio eradication projects in Pakistan.  In 2016, 2017, and 2018 he participated in the Ride to End Polio---a 100 mile bicycle ride in Tucson.
 
John is a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He is also a Major Donor and a member of the Bequest Society.  John is a member of the Hill Country Memorial Hospital Foundation Board, Planned Giving Advisory Council for the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, Fredericksburg Toastmasters and is Past President of the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country Judy is Past District Governor of Rotary District 5840.

Jim Henry

Jim is a native Texan having lived in Texas all his life. He obtained a BBA degree from Baylor University and later his JD degree from the Baylor University School of Law. Jim has always concentrated on real estate law. Jim is now retired from full time employment.

Jim is the first in his family to be a Rotarian, having joined the Northwest Austin club in 1990. He has held numerous offices including President, President Elect, Vice President of Community Service, Club Service, International Service and Vocational Service and served on the club’s Past Presidents Council. He is a Rotary Benefactor, a member of the Paul Harris Society and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. He remains very active in supporting all of the clubs projects throughout the community.
 
At the district level, Jim served as an Assistant Governor for four rotary years from 2013 -2014 thru 2016 - 2017. Jim also served on the district membership committee, concentrating on membership retention.  Jim’s passion in Rotary is membership. Not just obtaining new members but obtaining and retaining Rotarians.
 
Jim was married to his wife Pene for 33 years until her passing in January 2013. He has two grownchildren and two grandchildren.
 
 
Gary Gillen

District 5890

Gary is married to Janice Gillen.  They have two married daughters and one granddaughter.  Gary & Janice own and operate Gillen Pest Control in Richmond where he is a member of the Rotary Club joining in 2001. He was named Rotarian of the Year by his club in 2003 and elected President in 2010-2011.
 
He was an Assistant Governor from 2013-2016, was named Assistant Governor of the Year in 2014-2015 and has been a member of the Finance Committee, All Club Meeting Committee and several District Conference Committees. He served on the Lone Star P.E.T.S Vision Committee in 2015.
 
He is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Paul Harris Society member. Janice and both daughters are Paul Harris Fellows.

Gary is a dedicated Aggie. He has been selected to serve as District 5890 Governor in 2019-2020.

 
Elizabeth Robinson

District 5910

Elizabeth (Betsy) Robinson grew up and has spent most of her life in District 5910.  She was born in Nacogdoches, graduated from Lufkin High School, spent 10 years earning 3 degrees at Texas A&M University and now resides in League City. Betsy is a member of the League City Rotary where she has served as treasurer, secretary, bulletin editor, foundation chair, director, and 2 terms as president.
 
A member of the District Roll of Fame, Betsy has served two stints as an assistant governor for a total of 5 years. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Paul Harris Society, a benefactor and a member of the Bequest Society.  In 2010, Betsy served as GSE team leader to Sao Paulo, Brazil. She is an active participant in RYLA and Rotary Youth Exchange and has hosted 4 exchange students: 2 from Brazil, 1 from Thailand and 1 from Sweden.
 
A Rotarian for 28 years, Betsy has had the pleasure to attend 8 International Conferences and most every district conference since the late 90's.  Betsy is a veterinarian by profession and has owned Bay Creek Animal Clinic in League since 1988, where she continues to do what she loves every day.  She's a member of the Galveston County Veterinary Medical Association, Texas VMA, American VMA and an associate member of the American Animal Hospital Association.
 
Betsy and her husband, Travis have been married 5 years and between them have 4 adult children and 3 grandchildren.  They are members of The Watershed Church in League City. In her spare time, Betsy likes to travel with her husband. She enjoys scrapbooking, reading and showing her Pembroke Welsh Corgi.  Betsy is looking forward to helping the clubs in her district become vibrant clubs working for good in their communities, their world and themselves when she takes office in 2019/2020.
 
 
Ellison Crider

District 5930

Ellison Crider was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas.  He and his wife Fay currently own the Buddy’s Home Furnishings franchise in Corpus Christi and Robstown, Texas.
 
Ellison’s joined the Corpus Christi Sunrise Rotary club in 1984.  After his daughter Lauren was born he joined the Corpus Christi Southside Club in 1990 and served as board member, Rotary Foundation Chair, and president.  After beginning the business he joined the Corpus Christi Evening Club in 2015.
 
Ellison got his start at District involvement with planning District Conferences.  He has also been assistant district governor, lieutenant governor and District Rotary Foundation Chair.
 
Ellison is a Paul Harris Fellow +8 and a member of the Paul Harris Society and Bequest Society.  Fay is a Paul Harris Fellow as well.  Ellison and Fay are also Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation.
