Lone Star P.E.T.S. Training

Every year on July 1, every administrative office in Rotary is filled by someone new.  This includes the president of Rotary International, the district governors of all districts worldwide, and all club presidents, all of which must be trained for their respective roles. Lone Star P.E.T.S. is a vital part of this important task.  Although the primary focus of this training is future club presidents, others who support the club presidents are included as well. While the presidents-elect are receiving their training, these other groups are being trained as well:

  •  Presidents-elect & Presidents-nominee Training

    •  Presidents-elect & Presidents-nominee have three different types of meetings

      • Optional Friday morning PE & PN sessions,

        • Rotary Basics, for for PEs with less than three years Rotary Membership

        • Bonus sessions covering subjects of Leadership, Budgets, Fundraising, and Polio Eradication

      • Individual district meetings convened by the District Governor Elect, Friday morning, & Sunday morning.

        •  Theater-style seating, Spouses welcome & encouraged to attend these meetings

      • Pre-assigned working breakout sessions, Friday afternoon and all day Saturday

        • Presidents-nominee have special curriculum tailored for their role in the club and do not receive a Manual of Procedure

        • Table seating

        • Spouses not allowed

    • Presidents-elect & Presidents-nominee's spouse or partner Training

      • PE & PN spouses do not train with their PE because the breakout room-size will not allow it.  Instead, special sessions are held which address the unique situation of a president elect's spouse or partner.  These session are not "tea parties". They are prepared and presented in such a way as to meet the special needs of their vital support role in and interesting and meaningful way.

  • District Governor, District Governors-Elect, District Governors-Nominee Training

    • There are special sessions for each of these groups, tailored to the specific needs of the group.  See the printed program for details.

    • Spouses or partners of these three groups are encouraged to join the PE spouses training sessions, both to show their support for the PE spouses and to enjoy the programs and speakers.

  • Assistant Governors Training

    • There is a specific program for assistant governors. See printed program for details.

    • There are no specific programs for spouses or partners of assistant governors, but they are welcome to join the PE spouses group if they wish.
