Pete is a member and past president of The Rotary Club of Mesquite Sunrise. He has served his club as Vocational Service, International Service, and Foundation Chair. He has served District 5810 as Governor’s Representative, Assistant District Governor, International Service Chair, Rotary Foundation Chair, and has served on the Scholarship, GSE, and two District Conference Committees. One of his most rewarding challenges has been as Cabin Counselor at Camp RYLA. Pete is a Major Donor, member of the Paul Harris Society and a Bequest Society member. He was honored as District 5810 Rotarian of the Year for 1998-1999. As PDG, Pete has served as District Governor Nominee trainer for Zones 25 and 26 for 2003, 2004, and 2005 Zone Institutes, and is a trainer and twice Chief Sergeant-at-Arms at Lone Star multi-district PETS and has been named Chief Operating Chair for the 2010 Lone Star multi (10) district PETS. Pete has been a trainer at Arizona Multi-District PETS, District 5750 and 5770 PETS and district assemblies in D.5750, 5770, 5830, 5810, 5930, and at Zone 26 Leadership Training Seminar. He has been a keynote speaker at several PETS and district Conferences around the country. He’s been President’s Representative for four District Conferences. He served as Rotary International Membership Zone Coordinator for Zone 26 for the years 2004-2008 and is Regional Rotary International Membership Coordinator for the 2008-2010 years.
Pete is President and owner of Alco Glass, Inc. in Mesquite, Texas. He has served as president of the North Texas Chapter of the American Subcontractors Association, as well as on ASA’s State and National Board of Directors. He was a Co-Founder of the Subcontractors Association of the Metroplex and is a past president and current Board Member of SAM and its national affiliate, the National Subcontractors Alliance. Pete is a past Board Member of the State and local chapter of the Texas Glass Association, and has served as its State Legislative Chair. He is a member of the Texas Leadership Council of the National Federation of Independent Business and is on the NFIB’s workers compensation council. He is a former director of the Forney Lake Water Supply Corporation and member of the Mesquite Economic Development Board. Pete is on the board of directors of the “Spectacular Senior Follies” in Dallas.
Pete grew up in South Bend, Indiana and attended Kansas State University. His wife, Sherry has been partners trainer at PETS and Governor-Elect training and is also a member of the Paul Harris Society, a Major Donor and a Bequest Society member. Pete’s son, Paul, is manager of assembly, testing and launch operations at Ball Aerospace and lives with his wife, Beth, son Sam and Daughter Avery in Boulder, Colorado.
